Azolla -
Salvinia Skimmer 1.52m

Azolla and Salvinia skimmer (1.52m wide) is specifically designed for the quick and easy skimming of floating Azolla and Salvinia direct from the waters surface. Designed with specific mesh for the collection of floating Azolla and Salvinia.

The physical removal of free floating Azolla and Salvinia has several advantages particularly when infestations are advanced. Partial physical removal increases the effectiveness of spray applications, such as Free Floating Weed Control by reducing the amount of spray being applied and speed up the overall treatment process. Partial physical removal or bulk physical removal takes out the nutrient loading held within the Azolla or Salvinia.

The Azolla and Salvinia Skimmer is specifically designed to make the job of physically removing Azolla and Salvinia quick and easy. Safe and simple to use, the skimmer reduces the OH&S risks with its easy action to capture Azolla and Salvinia and remove it from the water. Each sweep, captures a path using a tailored screen mesh and as the skimmer is removed from the water it closes and traps the catch, for easy disposal onto the shore line or into a wheelbarrow or trailer. The Industrial skimmer clears a path of 1.52m wide with every sweep and is ideal for larger water bodies or to clear smaller water bodies more quickly.

Customer Feedback:

Hi Terry.

Just thanking you for my new Parachute Skimmer just arrived and used.

I live in Wodonga township on one acre (half Ha) tha has an original farm dam (before the land was subdivided).

The dam has Ferny Azolla, which I am quite happy about as the ducks (wood ducks, teal, black ducks and grebes too) like it and I have been harvesting it for a couple of years to add as fertiliser for my veggie patch

I had tried various harvesting methods, and last year devised something like your skimmer, using a couple of foam pool noodles, some bird netting and steel cable (as the weight)..it was moderately successful, but still reasonable hard work. It really just worked look a boom that would corral the weed as a towed it (behind my row boat) around in a semi circle. Then I used a plastic garden rake to scoop out the weed as I pulled the boom to the edge.

Your skimmer is excellent and SO much more efficient and easy to use. Have attached a photo for you. Only took about 15 minutes to gather this up. Get really stuck into it today.

Also, your delivery was amazingly quick. I buy a lot of stuff on line and was expecting to wait a week.

Glenn.
